Where it comes from

An herb family with a 3,000‑year paper trail

Wild oregano has grown on the dry limestone hillsides of the eastern Mediterranean for as long as anyone has written things down. The hyssop named in Scripture, ezov in Hebrew, is widely identified by botanists as Origanum syriacum, a member of the same oregano family. Black seed is there too, in Isaiah 28.

Will it taste or burn like oregano drops?

Why is there a Psalm on the label? Do I have to be religious?

Not at all. The hyssop mentioned in Psalm 51:7 is widely identified by botanists as Origanum syriacum, a wild member of the oregano family, and we like that the herb in this jar has that much history behind it. It is an origin story, not a health claim and not a requirement. Everyone is welcome here.
