Our story

We wanted an oregano jar we could read out loud

OODY began as a small, faith-rooted brand run by Lily Nguyen and a handful of people who like making things carefully. When we looked closely at the best-selling oregano supplements, we kept finding the same things: giant "equivalent" numbers, blends that hid the real amounts, and subscriptions that renewed long before the bottle was empty.

So we set ourselves a simple test. Could we make an oregano and black seed softgel whose label we would be happy to read out loud to our mothers, line by line? That test is the whole company.

Where it comes from

An herb family with a 3,000‑year paper trail

Wild oregano has grown on the dry limestone hillsides of the eastern Mediterranean for as long as anyone has written things down. The hyssop named in Scripture, ezov in Hebrew, is widely identified by botanists as Origanum syriacum, a member of the same oregano family. Black seed is there too, in Isaiah 28.

We don't think old means magic. We think an herb people have kept in their kitchens for that long deserves to be made carefully and labeled honestly. That is the whole idea behind this jar.
